This is the first on the list. It is a British company and according to the company’s website, outset is UK’s online leading transcription company. They are currently looking for transcribers to work on their transcription file.
Now, the transcription jobs are for different sectors and you have to select the sector that you can apply for. They are currently hiring remote home-baked audio typists for the following sectors: conferences and seminars, medical, media and interviews, property and surveying and universities. Outsec welcomes applicants from all parts of the world as long as you meet the requirements. So you can apply even if you live outside the UK.

To work for outsec, you need two years of typing experience but the requirements vary depending on the sector you are interested in. Before making your application, make sure you have the basic requirements that is a computer, Internet connection, a transcription tool and a pair of good earphones.
To apply, you need to fill out the application form on their website. If your application is successful, you’ll get a typing test to access your skill and if that goes through, you’ll start getting transcription jobs.
Typists get paid per audio minute though outsec hasn’t indicated their pay rates on their website, I guess you get that information during your application process. Outsec transcribers or typists are paid directly into their UK bank accounts in UK Pounds Sterling on the 15th of each month.
Transcribers/typists who are not in the UK or who do not have a UK bank account receive their payments through PayPal in their local currency equivalent to the UK Pounds Sterling rate. Unfortunately, they don’t do bank transfers for people outside the UK. So you will not be able to receive payment without PayPal.

According to my research and the information on their website, most of their audios are usually between 30 seconds and 10 minutes long. In my experience, transcribing a 10 minutes video can take about 40 minutes because it takes around 4 minutes to transcribe one audio minute if you are a good transcriber. They have also not disclosed their pay rate on their website but they claim to make payments daily for all approved work. So you can expect to receive daily payment as long as you work and you work gets approved.
They also offer other work opportunities like data entry jobs, writing jobs, editing jobs, product research and graphic design jobs and so on. So if transcription is not your thing and you are interested in something else, you might want to check out onespace.
3.) Athreon
This company is currently accepting applications for general transcribers and editors. The ideal candidate are those who have experience in transcribing and editing multi-speaker audio files. They have numerous transcription jobs in various sectors like media, medical and business. According to the company, they have access to a consistent workflow that is both challenging and rewarding. You’ll be getting work files through Athreon from their workflow platform. They assure transcribers and editors that jobs are available 24/7.
Athreon pays freelancers strictly by PayPal and you need at least 2 years of relevant work experience to join Athreon. And unfortunately, Athreon is only accepting applicants from the United States and Canada. To apply, you will fill out their online application form by providing all the relevant details and attaching your resume.
